Our Eco Club consists of a number of pupils at Prestwich
Arts College, Manchester, who are all concerned about the
issues in our world. We put together a club in our school
where members go to weekly meetings and discuss protests
and important ecological issues together. At the moment
we’re concentrating on the matter of global warming and
we are doing a lot of hard work to try and help people understand
more about it, learn more about how they can help stop it,
and how they can make other people more aware about it too.
We’ve been involved in many important (and some famous!)
things to do with climate change and global warming. Only
just a few months ago, we went down to London to protest
with thousands of others against climate change. We’ve put
together a play and are currently touring our town’s primary
schools to try and get younger students aware about climate
change too. We are also planning to campaign for solar power
instead of electricity power in our school.
If you’d like to join us, then think about setting up
an Eco Club in your school or local area! Or for students
at Prestwich Arts College, then just come to Eco Club on
Thursday lunchtime and join in; you’ll be welcomed!
